- In this unit I learned that Bretten Woods Agreement is an agreement signed by the 44 allied countries in 1944, they created a system of rules and institutions( organization) for the global economy.
- I found it really interesting that the United States and other more developed countries control the World Bank and IMF (International Monetary Fund).
- I can connect what I learned in class to
- What surprised me in this unit is that the World Bank witch job is to help countries in need, but what i see is that the World Bank is only helping the Unites States and other developed countries that are harming the environment, and they don't need the help as much as the developing countries who are environmentally friendly.
- One concept that i am still having difficulty with is .........
- One question I still have is what would happen if sweatshops were not created.
- One learning strategy I found really helpful was word wheel. If I was to teach someone how to use this I would tell them to first make nine circles then choice a word that you understand very well and put it in the first circle next choice another word and put it in the second circle finally compare the two words to each other. This will help them learn the connection between words.
Free Trade is trade between countries with few restrictions. with free trade there are no tariffs on products, no quotas, no subsidies given, free access to market and free movement of labour. Free trade allows countries to outsource easily and get their products from sweatshops which promote poor working conditions and lax environmental laws. NAFTA and FTAA are supporters of free trade.
Part C: Globalization cartoon
This cartoon relates to sweatshops. The cartoon demonstrate that Nike sweatshops in developing countries need help when they are the one who made the products. this shows that American companies are buying the products for was less money then what they are selling it for. this means that sweatshops are not beneficial because they don't care about human right, all they want is more money. they treat human like slaves, children and women works for hours and all they get is $2 a day, beside there is children and women abuse in the work station.

Part E: Globalization and quality of life
The connection between income per person and life expectancy is the sicker and poorer you are the shorter you will life but the wealthier and healthier you are (income), the longer you will life (life expectancy).
Hans Rosling is pro-globalization. I know this because in the video he is saying that by the time goes on all countries all becoming healthier and wealthier.
The most interesting thing i learned was when former colonies gained independence they became healthier and wealthier.
One thing i would like to learn more about is how did former colonies get wealthier when they got independence.
